Window Glass Replacement
New glass in the frame you already own
When glass does need replacing, it very rarely means the window does. The sealed unit comes out, a new one goes in, and the frame, trim, hardware and wall are left exactly as they are.

The single most useful thing to know before you get quoted
In most homes the glass sits in a frame with a great deal of service left in it. Replacing the glass alone is a fraction of the cost of replacing the window, takes a fraction of the time, and disturbs nothing.
Replacement window companies rarely open with that, because the glass job is worth far less to them than the window job.
There is one Colorado-specific detail worth insisting on, and most homeowners have never heard of it: sealed units for use at altitude need to be built for altitude. Getting that wrong is why some replacement glass fogs up again within a few years.
Sealed units built at sea level and installed at 5,000 feet are under pressure from the day they arrive.

Glass we supply and fit
All measured to your opening and installed into existing frames.
Insulated sealed units
Dual-pane units built and specified for the elevation they are going to, then fitted into your existing frame.
Tempered safety glass
Required near doors, in bathrooms, at low sill heights and in large panes. We identify where it applies and supply it.
Low-E and solar control
Coated glass that cuts solar gain and the intense UV you get at Colorado elevations, while keeping the light.
Obscure and patterned glass
Privacy glazing for bathrooms and entry sidelights.
Laminated glass
Where noise, security or UV control matters more than cost.
Patio and oversized panels
Large sliding door and picture window units, handled with the right equipment.
Why altitude changes the specification
This is the part of the job that gets skipped, and it is the part that matters most here.
Sealed units are pressurised by elevation
An insulated unit is sealed with air or argon at the altitude where it was manufactured. Take that unit up several thousand feet and the trapped gas expands, bowing the panes outward and loading the perimeter seal permanently.
Which is why breather tubes exist
Units destined for high elevation are normally supplied with capillary or breather tubes that let pressure equalise in transit, then get sealed. Skipping that step is a common cause of premature fogging in Colorado homes, and it is worth asking any glazier about.
Mountain towns are a different job again
Denver is around a mile up. Plenty of Colorado communities sit thousands of feet higher still, and glass specified for the Front Range is not automatically right for them.
Why reglaze rather than replace the window
Same result, a fraction of the disruption.
A fraction of the cost
Glass replacement against full window replacement is not a close comparison.
No building work
No frames out, no drywall, no stucco, no repainting, no permits.
A chance to upgrade
If the glass is coming out anyway, Low-E is the sensible moment to specify it.
Specified for where you live
Including elevation, which is the detail most often missed.
Three steps, no runaround
We measure on the first visit
Glass is cut to your opening, so guessing sizes wastes a trip and a pane.
We specify it properly
Glass type, coating and elevation build, with a firm price before anything is ordered.
We fit it
Usually under an hour per pane once the unit is ready.

Glass replacement questions
Can you replace just the glass and not the whole window?
Yes, and that is most of what we do. The sealed unit comes out of your existing frame and a new one goes in.
What is a breather tube and do I need one?
It is a small capillary tube that lets a sealed unit equalise pressure while it travels to a higher elevation, and is then sealed off. For glass being installed at Colorado altitudes it is standard practice, and skipping it is a known cause of early seal failure.
Is Low-E worth it here?
On sun-exposed elevations, yes. UV intensity increases with altitude, and Low-E cuts both the heat coming in and the fading of floors and furniture behind the glass.
How long does it take?
Measuring is quick. Fitting happens on a return visit once the glass is cut, typically under an hour per pane.
Do I need tempered glass?
It depends on location. Safety glazing is required near doors, in bathrooms, at low sill heights and in large panes. We identify it at the estimate.
Other repairs we handle
Doors and windows are all we do, so whatever has failed, it is probably on this list.
